LOCATION
Grows in deep humus on calcareous substrate at elevations of  875 - 1000 m in Sumatra.
 

PLANT DESCRIPTION
Leaves have tessellations with the lower surfaces pigmented with purple. Leaves are 12-16 cm long and 3 cm wide.

FLOWER DESCRIPTION
INFLORESCENCE
Single flower at height of up to 35 cm.
DORSAL SEPAL
Obovate, apically acute. White basally flushed with pale yellow green and mesially suffused with pink. Green veins merge into maroon stripes which extend only to the white border.
VENTRAL SEPAL
Bicarinate and is pale green with darker green stripes.
PETALS
Oblongate petals are held nearly horizontally. Khaki and olive green with buff coloured apices. The petals are striped with darker green or chestnut brown and bear a sparse scattering of verruca above the mid-vein.
LABELLUM
Khali coloured with a flush of pink or chestnut brown. Veins faintly show through in darker brown and maroon.

FLOWERING SEASON
Winter.
