Cleo's Melody and Dutchman's Delight are the parents for Beverly Smith. A small standard with very round, full shape. Photo was featured in the Orchid Review many years ago as one of Dean Roesler's eye catching orchids at the Ararat National Cymbidium show. 'High Clouds' is also a white but smaller in size. For showbench shape, white intermediates and small standards this is a cross worthy of trying. August / September flowering.

'White Lace' is a pristine white, small standard in size with a contrasting labellum being nearly black from its heavy near black markings. Aim of the cross was to produce white intermediates with labellums being heavily barred with nearly black. July / August flowering.

Olymilum has lots of good properties which it passes through to its progeny. It has reasonably small plant growth, free flowering properties and passes on robustness to its progeny. I have flowered some good showbench progeny having 'Best Pink' as a parent. The plant originated from Andy Easton. It is a mid pink with flat form and is filled in and has a broad complimenting labellum. 'Red Dragon'  is one of the better red plants to come out of the Free Spirit cross. This one tends to be more on the red side while the majority have been purplish reds. Large blooms in the deep pinks with some reds expected with good form and a flowering time of late August/ September.

I have flowered two plants from this cross and was surprised of the colour. They were both similar in colour and were in the yellow shades with a slight pink overlay. This colour faded over time to a more pastel shade. Plants flowered in a 12 cm pot and may indicate free flowering properties for this cross. Pendulous intermediates for August / September.

Some of the previous crosses using Magic Elf have been successful with good progeny being produced. Hopefully good orchids will come from this cross.
