A very attractive flower. A bright, clean, white, small standard with a rose pink coloured labellum that makes a great contrast. The pink colour wraps the whole labellum. There is also some red spotting in the pink edge. Tall racemes of sixteen plus flowers. August flowering.

We have started to see some of the progeny flower and have been impressed. Most that have flowered have been put aside to view on another flowering to see if they are worthy of cloning. Five plants have been given cultivar names. Those that have flowered are white intermediates, some having a purple midline in the petals & dorsal sepals. The lip markings range from red spotting to dark red, near solid barring. One was extremely attractive having a hot pink, solid labellum with dark red spotting and barring and yellow keels.  August flowering.

Cape Banks is a cross of Vieux Rose and Sylvania. 'Mukoyama' would be a pink standard. We have seen great progeny resulting from 'Geyserland Netty'. Large pink flowers with red barred and spotted labellums, expected, flowering late in the season, September.

Two very good orchids have been combined in this cross. 'Top of the Class' is a deep pink, going onto purple with a red spotting, forming bars on the  labellum. Yellow keels and a splash of yellow in the centre. 'Best Pink' is a large, filled in, perfectly round, pink standard with a white labellum having edges with lots of fine, red spots making up a bar. Flowering mid-season.

The first of the clones to flower, flowered true. What is meant by this is, often feathered flowers revert back to a normal colour. Not sure if all the clones will be true to form so please beaware when purchasing this clone. An intermediate which is in the brown shades with some feathering around the edge of the petals. Multi Colour' is a different colour to what we normally see with sepal pelorics. The purplish red petals fade to white in the centre. The labellum has a red band made of red spots and lots of yellow in the centre. The sepals also have the labellum markings with lots of yellow in the centre. Yellow keels are also found on the sepals. Standard in size. August / September flowering. Registered as Darch Fiesta.

We have seen progeny that indicates Dutchman's Delight is not dominate in passing through its labellum colour. 'Blushing Bride' has a labellum that is nearly pure white and is from a mericlone mutation of 'Margerieta'. 'Candy Cane' also has a labellum with very little colour. Expect large, white standards some with a faint pink blush having little colour in the labellum. September flowering.
